Time

Sitting uncomfortably mesmerized by time
Trying to hold the pulse of this body of mine
Visualizing seconds as they evaporate into minutes
Turning back the clock when nothing is brilliant

When memories burst like unwanted boils
When breathing becomes such a laborious toil
When standing still makes you pant and sweat
Trying to stop time maybe something you’ll regret

When laughter lines have all but faded from view
Time has corroded the magic once found in you
Bitter and twisted all of life becomes unfathomable
But the view from the outside is barely tolerable
